The large-scale photographs deal primarily with the imprint of man on nature and the demise of purpose and place. What could be American or Middle Eastern scenes exist like postmodernist frontiers: scientific test sites, tourist spots or war zones. In an uncanny juxtaposition between land and the built environment, Rhyolite (Nevada, USA), the once thriving mining town of 1905 founded on a utopian vision, lives on within the physicality and presence of place, beyond stone and mortar.
